Seoul Named World's Best City for Students

Seoul leads the QS Best Student Cities ranking, followed by Tokyo and London, while Vienna secures ninth place for its high quality of life.

Seoul has claimed the top spot in the latest QS Best Student Cities ranking, followed by Tokyo in second and London in third. Munich was named the best European city, while Boston ranked highest in the United States at 18th. Developed by Quacquarelli Symonds, the ranking evaluates 23 indicators across six categories, including quality of life, affordability, employment, and student mix. Vienna ranked ninth, earning high marks for safety, transport, and healthcare, as well as its low or non-existent tuition fees. The evaluation also considered a student survey and the proportion of international students, where Vienna performed strongly. Notably, the methodology excludes research performance and supervision ratios, focusing instead on factors like air pollution and cost of living to determine the best global environments for higher education.
