Zehetner to Present New PV Funding Draft

State Secretary Elisabeth Zehetner (ÖVP) will present a new photovoltaic funding draft before October 8 to ensure industry predictability.

State Secretary for Energy Elisabeth Zehetner (ÖVP) announced plans to present a draft for future photovoltaic funding before the final 2024 funding call on October 8. Developed with industry representatives and an expert committee from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs, Energy and Tourism, the proposal aims to provide predictability for customers and the industry, including Hansesun in Vorarlberg and Tyrol. Previous funding rounds were exhausted within seconds, prompting a shift in focus. Zehetner expressed a preference for funding storage systems over PV systems and suggested the draft may include a "Made in Europe" requirement. However, she rejected a VAT reduction for PV systems citing the current budget situation.
